Can I use your wireless cameras with my TV and VCR? A. Absolutely! Our Pro Wireless cameras use very common RCA cables. In fact everything you need is included! Q. Why are these described as "wireless" when wires and cables are required for installation? A. The term "wireless" describes the transmission of the video signal. There is no cable carrying the video signal. There is a wire, that must be plugged into a wall outlet, that provides power. Battery packs are a built-in the Pro Wireless cameras. Q. The description says "1 lux" what does this mean? A. A lux rating is a description of how well a camera works with a given level of light. A 1 lux light rating means the camera is a low light camera and can see in little light, such as dusk or with the residual light from a street light. Q. Can I watch the video on my computer? A. Yes, but to do so would require a USB adapter. Q. How difficult is it to set up these cameras? A. The wireless cameras are the easiest surveillance cameras to set up. Each camera, and the receiver, has a power adapter that must be plugged into a standard wall outlet. The receiver is connected to your TV and of course a wall outlet for power. Complete instructions are included with these systems, plus toll free tech support is available. Q. Can I install a wireless camera outside? A. Our Pro Wireless cameras, while robust & well made, are intended for indoor use. Q. Do these cameras transmit sound, or just video? A. These wireless cameras transmit both audio and video. Q. My application requires the camera to be separated from the TV by walls, will this affect the picture quality? A. Possibly, each wall that the wireless video signal must pass through will degrade the strength. In commercial construction this could be a significant drop in range. Generally you should expect to lose about 15 feet of range for each wall which the signal must pass through. Q. I have a 2.4 GHz cordless phone, will this interfere? A. Yes, these cameras will accept interference from a 2.4 GHz cordless phone. Q. I need a spy camera that I can use to secretly record with, do you carry anything like this? A. No, eGadgets.com does not carry this type of camera. While many of our cameras are small, and may lend themselves to some special applications, they are not meant to be hidden spy cameras. To use our cameras in such an application would require modification, significant creativity and may violate eaves dropping laws. Q. I live outside the United States, can I still use your wireless cameras? A. Possibly. Our cameras run on 12 Volts DC power, and come with power adapters that are intended for use with 120 Volts AC power, they also feature American style plugs. You may be able to purchase power adapters locally that can convert the power in your country to 12 Volts DC. Another point you should be aware of; the video signal format. The TVs of many countries operate on the PAL video signal format. For the price, it's a pretty good buy. Francine J on 2005-03-18 I couldn't afford a really elaborate security camera for my store, but this one does the job.
