I spark it up during commercial breaks and get a little exercise. It took me some time to get the hang of the hula hoop motion, but once I did, I found it really fun. I was actually surprised how many calories I burned just hooping during commercial breaks! Lally on 2005-06-28 There is a reason why our old gym teachers used to get us to do hula hoop exercises in phys ed class … because they're good exercise! This was a blast from the past for me as a middle aged woman now, but it sure took me back to my youth when hula hoops were all the craze. I like that it tells me how many calories I've burned doing hula hooping. It's a really fun workout and no impact, which is important for my joints too. It's helped me to get more active, which is a very good thing.
