This portable is a great compromise because now we can cool down one room at a time, so it saves us power over central AC too. Now that it's gotten colder again, I'm looking forward to using the heating function for a little extra boost of warmth at night in the winter too. Chrissie C on 2005-05-20 I live in an old one bedroom apartment and there is no air conditioning for the building, so I knew that if I wanted AC, I was on my own. I figured that for $400, a personal air conditioner that doubles as a space heater is a small price to pay to sleep in comfort.
